Safer Internet Day
10 February 2015
Safer Internet Day (SID) is a global event which is celebrated annually on 10 February. This year’s global theme is “Let’s create a better internet together” which acknowledges that a safe responsible use of digital technology is a shared responsibility. A number of Government and non-Government organisations across New Zealand are celebrating SID.
To highlight SID the Ministry is promoting the release of a guide to schools called Digital Technology– safe and responsible use in schools. This guide was developed by Online Safety Advisory Group (previously Cyberbullying Advisory Group), a subgroup of the cross-sector Bullying Prevention Advisory Group (BPAG).
More information about other activities supporting Safer Internet Day in New Zealand can be found online.
