Online Teaching and Learning Programme for English Language Learners in Year 7-13

- in Year 7 to Year 13 students within their first year of English-medium schooling in New Zealand,
- in the early stages of English language acquisition ie Foundation or Stage 1 of the English Language Learning Progressions,
- enrolled in schools which are new-to-ESOL i.e. schools without a ‘history’ of older students who have limited English language proficiency,
- enrolled in schools without trained ESOL–specialist teachers.
The programme is designed to complement school provision for the target students. Lessons are provided online by qualified ESOL teachers. Eligible participating schools are required to supply the necessary technology to access the online lessons and a teacher aide to support students in completing learning tasks.
